A Disaster Turned Beautfiful

Here at Cabinet IQ, we have seen a lot of people with a lot of different stories walk through our showroom doors. When we started in 2016, our goal was to provide every single person that walked in our door, or that calls our store, the six star experience. The particular customer that we will be showcasing today, deserves their own blog post. She was scrolling through Google looking for a reputable remodeler, and luckily came across our page. Ever since then she has been one of many of our all-star customers.

The Story:

In April of 2021, this customer came to us after her home flooded locally here in Round Rock. The kitchen needed a remodel, and we wanted to help her in any way we could. After living with her destroyed kitchen for over six months, while also having two kids, we were ready to begin the process in early 2021. We immediately paired her with our designer Linda, and they got to work rebuilding her beautiful kitchen. When she initially came in she wanted a transitional style. Ultimately, after much discussion that’s exactly what they did. The cabinets were older, so the color could not be matched for a simple repair. Starting from scratch isn’t always ideal, and takes a bit more time. We see this happening a lot, but the wait time is always worth the end result.

The Solution:

The kitchen was reworked from scratch. All new finishes were designed, and a completely new space was born. The cabinetry that was used was from our Kraftmaid Vantage line, which is one of our top of the line, semi-custom cabinet options. With full overlay wood framed construction. Featuring soft close, full extension dovetailed drawers and undermount metal heavy duty glides. The style of the doors includes Breslin style in a cottage painted finish on the perimeter walls. The island highlighted a peppercorn stained finish and an included peninsula cabinet for the cooktop. Other details include deco doors on the wall and base cabinet end runs on the butler’s pantry, and island ends and back, sink wall and wing island ends. The countertops are Arizona Tile’s 3cm thick Fantasy Brown. Our designer Linda was able to give our customer more storage than she had before due to the fact her oven was converted to an oven cabinet with included storage. In the image below, you will see the rendering that Linda put together to showcase how the kitchen would ultimately be designed.

The Results:

Not only did our customer gain a completely updated kitchen, she now has a lot more space to put her things. After a year of insurance negotiation, her home was ready. The space doesn’t look recognizable from what it was before. The color scheme that was chosen, along with the gold hardware selections, aligns with what we believe as the perfect transitional kitchen oasis. The end results ended up being immaculate, she was delighted with the final result. If you have a story also like this and need our assistance, call us today.
