The Kitchen Edit: Good Design Knows When to Stop

Good Design Has Personality. The Best Kind Is Yours.
Some kitchens make a statement. Others make you feel right at home. The best do both.
Think rich textures, unexpected contrasts, and thoughtful details that make a space unmistakably yours.
This month, we’re exploring the art of mixing materials, taking you inside our design studio, and sharing what’s inspiring us around LA.
Good taste. Thoughtful design. Let’s get into it.
From Our Studio: A Little Contrast. A Lot of Character.

Warm oak. Soft white cabinetry. Honed marble. Brass in all the right places.
For this Holmby Hills kitchen, we let the materials do the talking. A sculptural fluted island anchors the room, while an architectural vent hood adds a little drama overhead.
Every detail has a purpose. Nothing is competing for attention.
Quiet confidence. Serious character.
Behind Our Design: Why It Works, the Power of Restraint
More finishes don’t make a kitchen more interesting. Better decisions do.
The trick is establishing a hierarchy. Let one element lead, use contrasting materials to create rhythm, and repeat key details just enough to make the space feel intentional.
In this kitchen, the island is the statement. Everything else knows its role.
Good design gets noticed. Great design knows when to stop.
Around Town: The Design Crowd Is Heading West ✨

WestEdge Design Fair returns to Santa Monica October 29–31, but the real buzz starts Thursday night.
Think 2,500 design lovers, craft cocktails, incredible interiors, and an exclusive first look before the doors open to the public. It’s part design inspiration, part LA social scene, and definitely a night worth dressing up for.
Plus, opening night supports Habitat for Humanity of Greater LA. Good design for a good cause.
